“Toccata in Orange and Blue” is the result of thinking about a musical term in visual form. Toccata has the connotation of a virtuosic display of ability or of sound. A similar musical term would be a “fantasia”. Perhaps the most famous toccata would be J S Bach’s Toccata (and fugue) in D-minor.
This visual toccata references the general aspect of a toccata which typically is a florid and expressive. I’ve let the colors, lines, blends and shaping have a turn in the arena, expressing sound in visual terms.
