Art has an abundance of insider quotes and hints. “15 Irises for Andy” is one.
I’ll share the “insider” part but you’ll get it soon enough if not already. This print is an early pixel-based image I made awhile ago. The process was this.
- I took a picture of a single Iris from my garden.
- I uploaded it to photoshop (and cropped it) making a new file.
- I made a number of files so I could manipulate them which I did.
- I selected and changed various sections’ colors making a series of color schemes.
- chose which ones I wanted and reassembled them in a new file creating the image you see.
It was fun for me and I hope you might feel the fun. As to the title- the master of the repeated simple image was Andy Warhol which is who this “bouquet” is for, albeit as a print for you.
