It’s easy for us to ”see” a sense of depth because we are on this side of the systematic linear perspective that developed in the renaissance. The illusion of convergent lines mimics the way we see.
I didn’t set out to do this but as I worked out the various proportions, one of which needed the central point, at all snapped and try as I might to make it flat, the battle was lost. People have commented on all sorts of things they see but no one sees anything “flat”. Such is the power of a few colors and lines precisely placed and the visceral reaction they can cause.
