I had struggled to find a way to make the Dynamic Symmetry that Jay Hambige developed fit within a square. That was fairly straight forward ultimately. The next step for me was to take those ideas and procedures and apply them to a narrative image.
I fastened on the idea of a landscape and in laying out each square, a certain visceral reaction determined where the eventual image would go. This one became a reference to a glacial lake near where I grew up. It is a Harmonic Square inscribed in a Harmonic Square of the same divisions.
