Parade is a digital composite print of an idea I’m working through that considers the image surface as “un-flat” or articulated. The idea is not new having been developed by Yaacov Agam in the last half of the 20th century.
By creating a louvered panel, two images can be produced so that what is seen changes as the viewer moves from one side to the other. the effect is created by “slicing” the two images and interlacing them alternately.
My focus is on interlacing and uplifting parts of the surface to create the shifting view.
This print represents the initial working out of the louver process, reduced back to the flat surface.
