I’m fascinated by the inevitability of plane geometry. I became aware that geometry was at once an academic pursuit and a practical application solving everyday issues. “Sacred Space- 2” is another image that explores how space is measured and articulated.
Where this application becomes apparent historically is in the ritual buildings we still have around us. A Gothic Cathedral is an impossible structure and is so much more than balanced stones. The inevitability of simple geometric ratios and relations results in a kind of resonant harmony.
I like exploring what these spaces might look and feel like graphically. I can’t seem to break away from a reference to those ethereal structures.
