When I lived near the ocean, There was a constant abundance of stimulation. It seemed the senses, the mind, the body, and a large expanse was always present no matter the season or day.
I was constantly overwhelmed by the variety and raw beauty of objects and scenes.
The seashells were of particular interest to me because of the beautifully balanced growth spiral. I liked especially the broken ones where you could see into the heart of the shell and the rich colors that were sequestered there.
“What the Sea Has (Also) Said” is a second “sea shell” image, which hints at those revelations. The title, “What the Sea has Said” comes from the realization that the sea indeed speaks to us in elemental ways, from growth spirals to the salinity in our own bodies”. Mindfulness of the sea creates a conversation that sparks inspiration and images worth expressing.
