“Ad Quad-5” presents the missing shape. Wassily Kandinsky, an artist and thinker in the early 20th century believed that color and shape had inherent spiritual qualities. I will leave it at that except to say, when the circle, triangle and square were invented (or discovered), our ability to understand the world became clearer and easier. The three shapes seemed also to come from another place. They represented something more than just the shape they inhabit. The renaissance artists knew the power of those shapes and used them precisely. They were at the forefront of a long history ever since Babylon, Egypt and Greece. We are still in the shadow of that thinking.

If I were to ask, “what does a circle mean. You would give me an answer. This ‘Ad Quad’ leads us to that contemplation of ancient roots of who and what we are as a culture and as a genetic entity finding that first glimmer of identity. Yes, it’s all there.
