In Holst’s “the Planets” Neptune (the last known at the time he wrote the music), is cast as “the Mystic.” I guess this is the visual equivalent. The lines are sparse the areas of color fewer, the colors rather more introverted.
“Ad Quad-8” almost doesn’t feel finished and complete and yet it seems like perhaps it is. It is an image that doesn’t shout and that might be its allure. It’s not for everyone perhaps. What, really, ever is?
To be honest, I find myself looking at this image and wondering just how this one came about. What happens when the artist questions an image they made? One thing that happens is, they become a viewer with thoughts, just like you.
