“Bird in Flight” is a title that has precedence. One need only think of Brancusi and his pursuit of the essence of Bird/Flight.
I had lost track of this drawing until recently. I’m still considering things that are present in this drawing that have become notions, methods, considerations, distillations. This is a prescient image, poised at a point many years ago, that distilled thinking and showed a way forward.
When this drawing is put next to my vector drawings, they look like family. My fascination with interference patterns is long. It begons here and continues in my newest works..
I am so proud to show it in context and to offer it for contemplation and, if there is an emotional attachment, a place to live on.
